The Impact of Meida

Article 1: http://www.smallbusiness.chron.com
Article 2: http://www.letusfindout.com/how-does-media-affect-our-lives/

Media has been impacting people everyday all over the world. It has clouded people's mind. Media lets us communicate and share what's going on today, but it also has its bad side. "Nucleus Research reported that Facebook shaves 1.5% off office productivity while Morse claimed that British companies lost 2.2 billion a year to the social phenomenon" from smallbusiness.chron.com. This shows how media can even affect our personal lives and change the choices we make. Media distracts people in knowing what the big news or new trend because everyone is always gonna be curious with what's going on in the world today. Media also changes our appearance when we see what's the new clothing or what the top outfits are.  People also would want to see a change to prevent the potential trash talking to start. Also said from..."while most sites allow their users to control who sees the things they've posted, such limitations are often forgotten, can be difficult to control or don't work as well as advertised" This also says how our daily lives are changed. People's communication skills would be below average due to the fact that media has changed. People are used to how their habits are from watching others live or with the distraction they find on looking at technology. Media could also be a killer when too much information is revealed too the public. It takes a toll on people's emotions and how they feel. Media is a game changer in the world and it will get worse as time goes on.

Macbeth Rough Draft

Don't force your way to the top, let fate take it's toll.

In the book "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare, Macbeth the main character was once told by three witches that he would become king one day. His wife Lady Macbeth, power hungry for royalty possessed him to kill everyone in line so they can be have a lot of power and be on top of everyone. He forced his way to the top and didn't let fate take it's toll leading to his downfall and ultimately his death.

If Macbeth just believed in the witches and didn't listen to his power hungry wife, he would still be alive and probably king. "Let not light see my black and deep desires" shows how Lady Macbeth already got into Macbeth's head to get power. This also shows Macbeth's desire to kill King Duncan. "that but this blow Might be the be-all and the end-all—here, But here, upon this bank and shoal of time, We'll jump the life to come." This shows his plans on how he is thinking of killing King Duncan and how he is trying to evade the consequences. "But screw your courage to the sticking-place,
And we'll not fail." He is letting his wife overpower/challenge him and he is starting to think that all that he is doing is right. He needs to listen to himself and others, take a step back, and let fate handle everything.

Macbeth is being used by his wife and doesn't understand what's going on. He is mind weak and she is just controlling him.  "Had he not resembled My father as he slept, I had done't." This shows how Lady Macbeth is worried that macbeth won't kill Duncan. this also reveals her weakness while boasting over her strength. She's having a melt down because she knows that if this plan doesn't  go threw, she will be powerless. "Bring forth men-children only; For thy undaunted mettle should compose Nothing but males." This resembles how Lady Macbeth is going over the plan once again so she knows that Macbeth is all in on it so she can gain her power. It also shows how Macbeth is weak because he praises Lady Macbeth's manly spirit. It should be him being the man in the relationship, but he only listens to her.

After all of this hassle and constantly listening to his wife, Macbeth pulls threw on the plan and kills Duncan. He thought it would be a one and done but the result of the murder haunted him. "Methought I heard a voice cry "Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep," the innocent sleep, Sleep that knits up the ravell'd sleave of care, The death of each day's life, sore labour's bath, Balm of hurt minds, great nature's second course, Chief nourisher in life's feast—" This shows how Macbeth can't carry on and has a hard time sleeping at night due to the plan. He should've not been selfless, stood up for himself, and let fate do the rest. "Methought I heard a voice cry "Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep," the innocent sleep, Sleep that knits up the ravell'd sleave of care, The death of each day's life, sore labour's bath, Balm of hurt minds, great nature's second course, Chief nourisher in life's feast" This also shows how he can't handle things anymore and  how he is hallucinating by hearing and seeing things that are haunting him from the murder.

Macbeth was used and controlled in this story by his wife Lady Macbeth. He should have not forced fate and just let it take it's tole. By the witches telling him he had the potential to be king one day, it just triggered something in both his and his wives head so they could become powerful. But look at them now, they are both dead and not king and queen. he should have listened. "Fair is foul, and foul is fair"

Group Leader Response LC #3

      A. Theme: Staying fearless in a inhumane situation is tough, in the book "Night" it takes a true hero to survive something so gruesome.

      B. Character: With strong hope and faith Ellie Wiesel is a survivor of all the pain, torture, and traumatic seeings the holocaust had to offer.

Group Reader Response LC #2

1a. Dehumanization: the act of degrading people with respect to their best qualities

   b. The Jews acted normal and didn't worry about anything in the beginning of the book.  After going through rough handling and seeing horrible things, their brains started to become corrupted and they worried about everything.

  c.  Eliezer  became depressed throughout the book and less outspoken. When his father got beat by the prison guards he just stood there and watched because he knew if he took a standpoint he would get beat too.

2a.

"Little by little life returned to normal. The barbed wire which fenced us in did not cause us any real fear." "Madame Schachter had gone out of her mind. Fire! I can see fire! I can see fire!"

“There were no longer any questions of wealth, of social distinction, and importance, only people all condemned to the same fate-still unknown.”

"I did not move. What happened to me? My father had just been struck, before my vary eyes, and I had not flickered an eyelid."

Group Reader Response LC #1

1a.
When the Jews heard information about the invasion, they were scared at first but then later reinsured themselves that everything was going to be fine and it was just another movement. An example would be when they were moved into the ghetto. Nobody knew what was going on or where they were going. This lead them to being scared but they just had faith and believed that everything was going to be fine.
2a.
"Moshe had changed. There was no longer and joy in his eyes. He no longer sang. He no longer talked to me of God or the cabals, but only what he had seen. People refused not only to believe his stories, but even to listen to them."
This showed how Moshe was so traumatized when seeing these actions and he wanted to notify everyone. He was depressed that nobody believed him even though he knew he was telling the truth.
"I wept because--because of something inside me that felt the need for tears. That was all I knew."
This shows how Elie shows his faith and why he isn't sure why he cries when he prays. This is an important quote in the book because it shows us what kind of person he is. Even though he doesn't know what makes him feel so moved by his religion, he has no doubt about his faith  and wants to learn more about it.
 "A-7713!"
This simply shows how the Jews were classified and how they had no names as if they were dead. This was important to the story because it shows how little pity they have for the Jews

“There were no longer any questions of wealth, of social distinction, and importance, only people all condemned to the same fate- still unknown.”
This shows that the prisoners have nothing left and were stripped of all their valuables. They only have fate that needs to show
"You must never lose faith, even when the sword hangs over your head."
This shows that even though you think everything that is happening is bad, keep your head up and have faith. This is important in the story because they are all miserable and think they are going to die.

Aushwitz

Aushwitz was the largest concentration camp built by the Nazis which included three main camps. The camps were located approximately 37 miles west of Krakow, near the prewar German-Polish border in Upper Silesia, an area that Nazi Germany annexed in 1939 after invading and conquering Poland. Aushwitz I was the main camp established near Oswiecim. Construction began in May 1940 in an abandoned Polish army artillery barracks. The SS authorities continuously deployed prisoners at forced labor to expand the physical contours of the camp. Aushwitz II was the largest in total population of its prisoners. It was divided into more than a dozen sections separated by barbed-wire fences and, like Auschwitz I, was patrolled by SS guards.  The camp also included sections for women, men, a family camp for Gypsies deported from Germany, Austria and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and a family camp for Jewish families deported from the Theresienstadt ghetto. Aushwitz I and Aushwitz II were the main camps that held the prisoners.

Aushwitz III and the Subcamps were mainly for prisoners to work and be put into labor. Auschwitz III, also called Monowitz, was established in October 1942 to assign prisoners to work with synthetic rubber works. The Germans established a factory in which its executives intended to exploit concentration camp labor for their plans to manufacture synthetic rubber and fuels. They invested 1.4 million dollars into the camps. The subcamps were established between 1942-1944 with 39 camps. The prisoners would work for hours either in a factory or outside doing hard labor, food was scarce and usually just consisted of a bowl of soup and some bread which was intentional and would eventually starve the prisoners. Living in Auschwitz was hell for prisoners and between being experimented on or having bad living situations and eventually dying a slow and painful death, Auschwitz was what the Nazi’s used as a genocide of the Jews.

Allusion Poem Final

"I'm going to touch the butt" I said
Curious yet scared at the same time
Not knowing what the future beholds,
I went anyway

Young, Still in school, and Growing did not hold me back
Being hard headed is something I did not lack
It was too late to turn around
If I did, all my friends would think I'm wack

Inching closer and closer
And as it gets darker and darker
A giant net sweeps me up
I swam and swam to get back down
But I couldn't get away
I was just a stupid clown

Trying to impress
Didn't lead to nothing but a mess
But just a worried dad
I tried everything to find him and make him glad

Doing everything I can
To be reunited with my main man
The net was a tough learning experience
I just hope he would understand

Now I'm back
And the punishments won't slack
But at least I'm home
